Welfare & Safeguarding

The welfare and safety of our swimmers is our highest priority. LLSC is fully committed to safeguarding all children and young people in line with Swim England's Wavepower guidance and current legislation.

Our commitment

Every child, young person and vulnerable adult who takes part in swimming activities at LLSC has the right to participate in a safe and enjoyable environment. We expect all members, coaches, volunteers and parents to share this commitment and to act responsibly at all times.

We follow Swim England's Wavepower policy, current legislation and best practice to make sure safeguarding is embedded in everything we do — from poolside behaviour and training environments to competitions and social events.

Welfare Officers

Our Welfare Officers are the first point of contact for any safeguarding concern or welfare issue and can be contacted in confidence via email, Spond, or in person.

Urgent concerns

If the concern is urgent and about a child at risk, and you cannot contact either Welfare Officer or the Swim England Safeguarding team, call the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000.

If it is an emergency because a child or adult is at immediate risk, contact the police straight away on 999. For non-emergencies call 101.

Wavepower

Wavepower is Swim England's safeguarding policy and procedures document. Its aim is to ensure everyone can enjoy our sports and aquatic activity in a safe, positive and enjoyable environment in line with current legislation, regulations and guidance.
